Lord I yearn to fly So Free.

From these Earthbound chains to Thee,

your vast & vaporous shroud of blue.

Brown & Green growing through,

Majesty thrusting wide & high.

Fingers Sprawling to Infinite Sky,

Far above our Earthbound strife!

Leaping limbs teeming with life,

whole new worlds given birth!

your mighty hand puncturing Earth,

That it’s with you I’d always be.

Lord I’d pray You’d hear my plea,

Tucked in Your lap perched on Your knee.

I’d climb up on and inside Thee,

This was the safest place for me.

For all around where I could see,

I’d hide in You where all is good.

I knew right then that if I could,

Left me spellbound where I stood.

Sinew and joints carved of wood,

You’d rock me ease me soothe my soul.

As the world all around me took its toll,

But I knew You were there to cradle me.

Lord I was little when I stood under Thee,

All of creation imbedded in that tree!

This is what I saw when I’d gaze upon Thee,

To frolic in the splendor  of all I see.

If only they’d  leave and let me be,

But visions   within    would set me free.

Dry & linear  was like    shackles to me,
